Rear bushing install?

Crisis

I am re-installing my trailing arms (73 TR6) with new poly bushings from Moss. Anything special I need to know? I've refurbished all the parts (smoothing and painting). Do I just re-attach and tighten down? Is the pivot point changed with the poly bushings? Is it now pivoting on the bolt/metal sleeve?
Any advice in replacing these would be appreciated. Thanks.

The original "rubber bushes" were really torsion joints, that is the rubber flexed to allow movement of the trailing arm. The poly bushes rotate on the metal sleeve, the sleeve should be longer then the poly bush, so you want to tighten the bolt to prevent the sleeve from rotating on the bolt and you are ready to go.

You also might want to consider putting in a grease fitting while you have the arms out. Just don't put them on the wrong side of the arm like I did the first time!

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to bolt them up and use a little Mobil 1 red synthetic grease for lube?

I'd get a second opinion, but I thought there was specific lube for the bushings and that grease wasn't optimal.

Ugh, I wish I had known that when I did mine. My sleeves were long enough so that I couldn't get them into the bracket and foolishly I thought all the excess was a manufacturing defect or at least excess to accomodate variations in brackets. So I ground some of the sleeve off to fit. I think the sleeves are still longer than the bushings....but they aren't as long as they were!
