Rear Brake Spring

Gentlemen:

Today, I was replacing the wheel studs on my 1960 BE when I broke the retaining spring for the brake shoe broke. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day and I would like to get the car on the road. Once before I broke one of these springs and purchased a replacement from a local shop - but I used one that (I think) was for a Mercedes.

Does anyone know if there is a substitute replacement spring I might be able to pick up from a local parts store?

Let me know,

you might need to pull the spring off the other side and take it with you

I have the broken spring. The "u" shape on the bottom broke.

The big issue is that when I tell the parts guy the make/model his face immediately rings up "no sale." IF i can point him directly to what I need I might be able to get a spring.

no chance you can find a store/ brake shop will let you look through their parts bin?
