My rear brake clyinders are locked up and I want to take them apart to try to clean/rebuild them; however, I cant get them to come apart. This is on a 59 BE.

Otherwise I was thinking, would I be better off putting in some newer rear drums? is there a worthwhile difference?. Thanks, Mike J.

Don't work so hard. These things are cheep. Just replace em.

I got mine from Moss and they were very acceptable.

I just put new ones in my 59 BE from Moss and they seem fine. Just remember to seat them in the back plate. Had to "tap" them in place as it was a tight fit. This will avoid asking the group some strange questions!!!!!!

Why so expensive? Get all this at VB for the same $$

What about getting the stupid clips on the back?

The bugeye does not have the circlips on the back of the cylinder. And you're right, the deal from VB is better! :yesnod:

I always wonder if VB has that stuff in stock. And I also see the stainless lines available - I am here to tell you that the braided lines make a tremendous difference in pedal feel. They take out so much sponginess it's amazing. When I put them on my car I had concerns about passing inspection as they're technically not street legal here in NC because the hose itself can't be visually inspected. But I never got any hassle about it...

Hello all, can someone tell me what the difference is between say a 73 and a 79 brake cylinder is as they have two diffrent part numbers. is one better .thanks in advance.
