TR2/3/3A Rear axle grease

I am rebuilding the axle. I notice that the cavity around the outer bearing is rather large. If one only injects the bearing with grease there will be a lot of space left. On the other hand if I were to really fill the space with grease I am concerned that it would overwhelm the seal and I would get grease leaking onto the brakes. So how much grease is enough. Of course there is the zerk to add more grease over time.
