Thank you John, I decided not to remove the rear apron but to repair the damaged areas both from a budget and building metal forming skills aspect. There are literally hundreds of spot welds to undo to remove the rear apron. I us a 3/8" ball rotery burr to remove spot welds so when panels are reattached the flange is damaged as little as possible.. I decide which side I want to keep and use the burr to cut the weld on the other side. The burr cuts the weld and minimal chance of going thru like with a drill bit or spot weld cutter. At the spare tire opening space is also a factor that the burr does well as you can use the side of the burr. Good luck, looking forward to seeing your progress. Is this due to accident damage or normal metal deterioration? Frank
PS. There are several videos. Go to you tube and search TR3 rear apron. Chef Tush did a great video of his repair and also the classic sports car channel. I also want to add my thanks to Lionel and his great metal forming skills and documentation as that has been an inspiration to help me continue on with my project. I gather as much info as I can before I dive into my repairs. Planning ahead takes time but will save time in the end with better results.
