Last Saturday my wife and I went to Franklin, TN. About two hours from where we live. The Nashville British Car Club had its annual fall all Brit Car Meet. I am a member of the club so we figured it would be fun to go. WOW was it ever! There were about 40 to 50 cars there with the MGB being the largest group. I figured seeing all those cars might give me the re-charge that I needed to get going on my TR3A. Talk about getting my batteries charged that did it. I have vowed to drive my car to next years meet. Mickey was there with his truly beautiful TR8. Nice job Mickey.
I spent most of Sunday cleaning in my shop so I could get cracking on it.
Just had to share this with the forum.
I have tried to add a picture of it when it came home from the body shop. Hope it worked.
As you can tell I am truly excited about getting it finished

I too am always pumped up after attending a show. Seeing all the finished products, listening to the stories and knowing it can get done is inspiring. Good luck! I'm sure you'll get to next year's meet!

And for the record, the count for the show was 93 total registered, and 90 showed up. Looked like fewer, but that's what the numbers said.

My car took third in its class. There were 2 TR8's, a couple of TVR's, a '52 Singer, an Aston Martin, a Lotus Elise, Jensen Healey, and a Stag. Call it the "We Don't Know Where to Put It" class!

Again, all in fun. I enjoyed the day, and besides my thrid place plaque, I ended up winning the door prize of a set of Bridgestone/Firestone tires!

If it will make you feel any better mine looked almost identical to yours about a year and a half ago. Same color and same type of roll around even. Though my rear clip was all crumpled on the drivers side.
You'll get it there just keep plugging away at it. Though in my case it helped to have a body guy that only does restorations and custom work. He is a magic man with paint and metal. I have done a fair amount of body work in my time but this rascal was waaayyy out of my league.
By the way I bought my car out Hollywood, Maryland, back in the late 80's I towed it to San Antonio where I was living at the time. It was a basket case at the time I bought it. I bought it from a Hemming's Motor News ad.

That guy in Hollywood, he didn't have a couple of them did he? I live about 4 minutes from Hollywood and found a car advertised locally and went to look at it. He said he sold another a "couple" years back. He wanted $2500 for it and the only thing worth saving was maybe the air in the spare tire!! Anyway, passed on that car. Mine was a complete but not running example.

What is it with TR3A's that everybody pulls the head off and does nothing else?

Keep us posted on yours. It is inspirational and I can show the picture to my wife and say "See......"

Could have been the same guy. I bought mine for $2000 in 89. Based on what I see now I paid too much for it. the biggest problem with mine is it sat in San Antonio, Dallas and the Atlanta area for about 10 years while I was hopping all over the country. Unfortunatly the rust did not stop and wait for me.

The Stag belongs to J.D. Damon, local club member. Sorry, no pictures, but it's a driver - nice one.

By the way, we're planning on driving to VTR next summer. Finally got most of the bugs out, but have some rewiring to do over the winter.
