hey guys, you have to check this one out. my girl friend accused me of writing this under a false alias. being much more cultured than me she reads the news from npr while we all know that i cant read anything that doesnt have pictures. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif anyway its a contest for the worst opening line of a book in honor of the author who opened his novel with "it was a dark and stormy night" check out towards the bottom of the page, the winner of the 2005 contest. i award this true genius with the respect he deserves you all will agree when you read it! i only wish i was the one writing it under the alias of "dan" like my g/f suggests.......

No, not at all. It's actually a contest to write the worst opening line. There isn't even a book to go with the opening line, let alone one that got published.

I duno which was worse. the "knurled caps of the oil dampners" or "Alf Romeo"
Bwahahahahaha.
Those are BAD.

"Writer's prerogative" !

Welcome to th' wild west of publishin' Ben! Blogs, websites, forums, e-bay...

Up to us to decide what to look at, what to accept.

"Caveat emptor" was never more "gravid" with meaning...

And THAT'S th' truth.
