Re-wiring my whole car this week/Car plans

My brother, dad and I both know our stuff obut cars, not as much me as them but, hey whatever. We are going to re-wire the WHOLE car this week and we'll be mapping out a custom temporary dash to install some new-age worthy switches. It won't be original but it will acutally work and maybe even look good!

For some reason my tails stopped working, when I went to look, I realize they grounded these things so badly. We decided to just re wire the whole car. My dad has done this many times because he builds hotrods so we are hoping there aren't many problems. We are going to get this badboy running like new. We will see how it goes.

Just so you know (some of you will hate this I'm sure) this is whats in store for the 6.

We are getting a carbonfiber dash made and we are replacing all the gauges with auto meter cobalt series gauges.

The interior will have a black custom one peice carpet set put it, also new seats will be installed.

The car will be stripped back down to nothing and then we are re-inforcing the frame, blasting it, and painting it. The body will be completely fixed and painted, inside and out, every peice. Gunmetalish Grey. We are going to attempt to paint the hardtop but we aren't sure yet.

We are trying to bring the car into the 2000's hah.

I think it'll look great when done.

this is an ongoing thing, I'm sure some of it will take awhile, we will see.

the paint I know will be done sometime this winter. Maybe around christmas. I'm going to register a domain and put pics up and stuff so you guys, if interested can watch as the drama unfolds!

WISH US LUCK!

well if you are modernizing, id put a buick grand national turbo v6 in it too. hehehehe Slightly built you could probably run low 12s in the 1/4 Muahhahaha!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif Good luck on your project!

Good Luck. Sounds like your dashboard and gauges are probably worth more than the car is at this point. Have fun.

You're correct.

GET A ROPE! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Seriously though, its your car, don't worry about what the purists say.
I enjoy the looks of modified LBC's, so long as the workmanship is of good quality and the modifications maintain the basic lines of the car. Unfortunatly many of them tend to be poor quality hack jobs that ruin the car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The wiring looks great... 6 hours of 3 guys working... well 2... I fetched parts. I learned alot however!

I promise the lines of the car will not be messed with. It will look like a TR6 when done, just with prefect paint..

All the work will be quality because thats how we are, my dads hotrods are amazing. He won't allow it to look like crap.

About the buick Grand Ntnl. motor... that would be neat, but.. we were looking at somehow using a 1g GSX and making an AWD TR6 with a turbo 4g63 powerplant. Now that. Would be cool.

As I said we are just looking into it. This car has been nick named "frank" for frankenstien. because when we are done, there will be like 8957698 different cars in it. hah.

It will be a special car. For sure if we get the 4g63 in there making it AWD woud for sure make it a one of a kind car. Best looks, reliable engine, AWD, light, and TURBO POWER.

Mmmm, makes my heart go thump thump.

it's a direct violation of what the British like best......Tradition.
Put some extra heavy duty wire....maybe 10gauge to the heater/blower motor....you'll need it.

Well I'm not British. So I'll be okay.

I'll check on the gauge of wire on the heater... I don't know if we used bigger wire...

Sounds like a fun project, but how about a S2000 engine or something else not Awd? It would help you out on the weight issues and would be much less complicated. You may be better off keeping a low hp engine for a while longer, they are a easier to learn how to drive fast. I always go by the rule that you have RWD and wrong wheel drive. Overall not the direction I would have taken but that's what keeps things interesting.

Have Fun and I look forward to hearing more and seeing your website. Sometimes you have to go over to the dark side to see how nice it is on the other side.
