Looking through Craigslist, I came accross the following:

1974 MGB-GT

The car turns out to be a rubber-bumper '74-1/2 GT.

Can't be too many of them still around.

only around 1250 imported, still not highly thought of. but not a bad price if it isn't too rusty.

I'm looking for a GT and I don't have problem with shipping but I never could get into the Rubber bumper GT lines.

For someone who likes them, the car has potential!

Thanks for posting it!

I beg to differ!

The rubber bumpers blend into the lines of the GT quite nicely!

Dditionally, the 74-1/2 still had dual HIF4s instead of the performance choking ZS150.

RB GTs rock! Unique, good looking, durable bumpers. So hard (if not impossible) to find good replacement Chrome bumpers, short of rechroming originals. The replacements (even the new retooled Moss) are still below par.

Of coures it is personal preference.

I like RB and CB MGBs, so not jumping into that fight , but when we restored the Huffaker MGB race car, even though it RBs were very nice, we thought about getting new ones, they were like $500 each and on backorder. So your experience on RB availabilty must have been different than mine.

Even for $850, the phrase "ran when parked" always sends chills down my spine.

Rick, I agree with you, but know people, including Tony Barnhill, who couldn't give the things away. I always wanted one myself

Rubber Bumbers make good anchors, paper weights, and best of all kindling...

Newkie

P.S. See, they do have their uses?

I seriously considered getting rid of my RBs for a while, but driving my B daily in city traffic for the past 3 years has convinced me that leaving them on is probably the wiser choice.

Although, I have to admit that those MorSpeedPerformance.com fiberglass bumpers are very attractive looking bumpers.
