Anybody ever wonder if there was a way to fit an EMD 710 engine in a spitfire? Would need suspension work of course but just a thought. Chances are I'm just crazy.

The 710 was also used in tugboats and such. Turbocharged V12 diesel, each <span style="font-weight: bold">cylinder </span>displaces 710 ci. I couldn't find a good photo of a 710, so here's a shot of its "little" brother, the EMD 645:
