Radio/speaker solution for BJ7

Just FYI my solution to replace the original dealer installed motorola am radio & single speaker mounted to the bottom of the parcel tray in a large plastic housing.

Ordered from Autotoys.com :
Universal under dash radio mounting kit (delux) #1022 -$23
Pioneer DEH 1100MP AM/FM/CD #11477 - $85

From DWG Speakers at motorcyclespeakers.net
Pair of DWG-1021 speakers- about $50

The mount is a perfect fit to the bottom of the Smith's heater pan and the included speaker brackets fit on the sides of the DIN housing placing the small speakers just above the trans housing against the flat firewall area. Sounds great!

If anyone wants photos I will send them since I havn't tried to figure out how to attach them to the blog.

I'd bet I'm not the only one (especially the BJ7 guys) who would be interested in your creative skills.

To attach a photo to your post:
Click on "File Manger" below this box when your typing here.
Click on "Choose file"
Find the photos you want on your hard drive and click one of them.
That will bring you back to the File Manger box, where you'll click "Add File"
After you have uploaded the photos, click "Done Adding Files"
Your photos will appear under your text, like below:

Well, I tried for the last two hours to post a photo without success. When I get to "add file" it is over 100kb which the photo is not. I give up for now.

My solution was to upload my photos to Photobucket.com (a free account needs to be established). Once uploaded, you left mouse click on the bottom of four choices in the "Share this image" box down and to the left of the photo you want to post and it copies the image information. Then go back to this forum and paste the image info using the right mouse click.

Hi Tproject,

I hear your frustration.
I just did a search for you and came up with this free (no sign up account needed) picture resizing site.

https://www.shrinkpictures.com/

1 Choose Picture or Photo to Shrink

2 Select New Maximum Image dimension
760 Pixels 600 Pixels 350 Pixels 100 Pixels
75% 50% 25%
Custom maximum 1000px

3 Apply an image Special effect (Optional)
Greyscale Sepia

4 Set resized image quality (jpg compression)
Good Better Best

5 RESIZE * be patient if original picture is large

The above is what you'll find.

1.Choose your photo from your hard drive.
2.Choose 760 Pixels or 600 Pixels (Depends on pixel size of original for reduction).
4.Best or better depending on 760 or 600.
(760 and better is a larger photo than 600 and best, if 760 and best is not reduced enough).
Example:
760 and best did not reduce enough for this upload.
1st photo 600 best
2nd photos 760 better

Then save the reduced photo somewhere on your hard drive. (Example, a folder for reduced photos, or desktop for this upload).
Choose that photo to upload here.
Good to go.

I'm just finishing up a project paper on, yet again, another BJ7 stereo solution. Although, truth be told it's a bit involved. But then I suspect you've come to expect that of me.

Roger, who did your photography????....it is all OUTSTANDING! If you tell me you did it I'll have to buy you a plane ticket.

Cheers,
Steve

Tproject: I tried chasing the speaker part number you were good enough to provide, but no joy. Is there another name/number?

Steve: jumping Jesophat! You've got more energy than this cowboy! That is one nice, tasteful, thoughtful installation!

Everyone else: thanks for the photo advice; my previous tries haven't been successful.

Doug

Doug, I didn't find them on the DWG site, which I guess is where Tproject bought them. But, I did find them here
https://www.teptronics.com/1021ab.html

Their price is closer to $100 but they do look pretty nice. This package includes an amp... were you able to buy them from DWG without the amp?

I'm looking forward to see an image of Tprojects installation.

Cheers,
Steve

Sorry, late getting back. I purchased the speakers from the DWG site around December and they were available seperately on special X-Mass sale for about$49, with the amp they were $79 (but it was a sale). I would call them to see if they would sell the speakers seperately. The amp in the radio provides plenty of volume for my needs but of course the amp in the kit would also work well mounted toward the back of the parcel tray.

Since I seem to be a slow learner when it comes to posting photos on the blog I will send photos via e mail if you request - my e mail is cttroy@bellsouth.net.

Photobucket worked! The shot above is before the parcel shelf was installed.
Thanks all! Now I have to work on my photography.
