Radio antenna lead

Hello all,

Removed my old antenna, but as I am trying to fit the new one, I am mystified as to how to snake the new lead through the doorjamb into the cabin. Suggestions? All carpeting and side panels are in place.

One trick that sometimes helps is to thread string or fishing line from the end point backwards, tie the line to the antenna, and then pull the line back towards the radio.

Might be worth a shot.

bc,

Not sure where your antenna is located...I have seen them in many different locations. On mine, it is on the passenger side. I had to remove the kick panel in order to reach up and grab the lead in from the antenna. I needed to remove the panels anyway in order to fasten/postion and hold the antenns as I screwed down the nut from the top to secure the clamp on the bottom. I snaked the cable from there up towards the bulkhead where the turn signal flasher relay is. There was a hook there that secures the winscreen washer line and cabling for the wiring harness that I utilized for the antenna lead as well. From there, around the bulkhead over the heater and to the back of the radio.

Cheers,

I'm guessing the 'tie a string to the old one, use it to pull thru the new one' comes a bit late for you.

Locations and cable routing vary -- it may be helpful to shine a bright light down the hole and look from the inside of the footwell to see where light peeks thru.
