Radiator air deflector

Hello all
I'm in the process of fitting the front shroud and radiator air deflector. This is a 1960 BN7 that came to me both wreaked and disassembled so I need some help understanding how some things go together.
The radiator air deflector is attached to the front of the shroud and a cross brace in front of the radiator, how does it attach to the radiator, does the right angle flange just tuck behind the radiator as in the picture or am I missing something, this doesn't seem very secure. Thanks

That's what I needed, although I'm surprised it isn't attached somehow at the radiator, but once everything is in-place it must be stable enough.

Do you know if it is best to remove the deflector before removing the radiator? The flanges are bent on my car pointing too much to the center of the radiator. I have pulled the radiator with the deflector in place but it appears it might be better to have removed the deflector, straightened, than replace the radiator and the last action being replacing the deflector. My car is a BJ8 but I am hoping mounting is not too different from the earlier cars. Just wanted to know if you or anyone on the forum had some advice concerning the sequence of removing the radiator and the deflector. Thanks,

Think mounting on 6cyl cars are all the same. You can probably undo the upper part of the lower rad hose and lift the rad straight out without removing the deflectors. If you have the auxiliary fan shrouds, remove them first. It's probably safer to remove the deflectors first so you can rotate the bottom of the rad forward away from the fan. Also if you do that you can loosen the lower rad hose at the bottom.
