Anybody know how to keep raccoons out of your yard? I've got a small pond and in the last 2 months I've lost 2 turtles, a dozen goldfish, and a koi. I got a Scarecrow motion sensing sprinkler but they ignore it.
You might try spreading moth balls around the pond / yard. Will have to be renewed from time to time as they disolve.
Had a squrielproblemnder the hood of several vehicles. A plastic bowl of moth balls secured under the hood fixed that problem. And got an extra 50 hp out of the deal.
There is nothing that will effectively repel raccoons. Some companies sell coyote urine products that are supposed to scare them off, but at best they're only going to be partially successful.
It sounds like you're mainly concerned with protecting fish and turtles in your pond. What you need to do is to provide cover for them so the raccoons can't get to them. A couple of sunken cinder blocks, or better some old ceramic drainage tiles, will provide hiding places where the fish and turtles will be safe. If your pond doesn't already have an "island" you should add one for the turtles, although the "island" might better be a log that allows the turtles to crawl out but still drop right back in the water when danger appears.
Also be sure to secure your house and garbage as well. If the pond is taken away as a food source they'll be looking for the next closest one.
