Racing Minis-The Glen

We had four very hot racing Minis at our ~VRG~ vintage races at Watkins Glen last weekend. I started 5th (behind all of them and next to a Porsche 356) in our Saturday Small Bore Race, but could not keep up with them.....they were like 4 little buzzy bees (all with much more radical 1275 engines than my Spridget).

You can see them coming by in ~this 18 second clip of the pace lap~ (with me and the 356 following).

Later on, during a very rainy session, I finished third behind two of them, having a great 10 lap race with Mack M (#109) who beat me in a drag race to the checker by about 4 feet (sadly not recorded because the heavy rain shut down my in-car Flip camera).

Great detail photos! That is one VERY nice Mini.

To be honest, all four of the Minis at WG were super-nice.

Great stuff! Love the tiny alternator and exotic throttle linkage.
I remember admiring the engine at Watkins Glen.....it's a beauty!
