Race video with commentary: Good or not good?

So one of the comments I got about some previous videos was to replace the written words with spoken ones. To try that out, I've added some brief voiceovers to this race at Sebring in the Cortina. Please take a few minutes to watch and let me know if I'm on the right track or not! Thanks!

Re: Race video with commentary: Good or not good?

Hi Mike--

Interesting idea. If I have any criticism it is that you sound rather detached--more like an observer than the driver--so why not take it one step further: Wire yourself up with a simple voice recorder and edit in at appropriate moments your "live" commentary as opposed (or perhaps in addition to) later voice--over. You can do it "in the privacy of your own home" bleeping over any inappropriate comments.

BTW I enjoyed watching the beginning portion prior to the first double yellow when we were running together. As you know, my brief "shut-down" at turn 16 occurred when my hand slipped off the shift knob and I am working on devising some kind of guard over the ignition and fuel pump switches that will prevent that from happening again.

Though I don't see your name on the SVRA entry list for next week's event I believe you and Dad are bringing the Cortina down and if so maybe we can get some more footage. Wouldn't it be cool if you could alternate views between two cars that were hooked up?

Mike- you store that car in the off-season by hanging it on the garage ceiling?

No sooner did I push the "submit" button than I saw that somehow the image was inverted. I am not a superstitious person but a picture of my car upside down does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I have tried to delete the image from the first post but for whatever reason cannot make that happen.

Here's the same image again--let's see how BCF does this time:

I inverted the saved image in my computer and posted that but for whatever reason BCF seems to want to show the G4 upside down. Now it seems to have changed its mind and make up for its mistakes by imbedding the pic four times:

Thanks Michael, that would be pretty cool! Unfortunately the Cortina is not joining us this time.

Since we leave for Sebring this morning, it seemed like as good a time as any to share the updated version of my video! I had a few ideas about what to change. I've added info about the driver, track, and car featured in the video; I added a short plug for the shop at the beginning with a link; and I re-recorded all the voiceover clips as well as adding a few. Please let me know what you think! I've left both versions of the video up for now as a point of comparison.

Mike--

I leave early Wednesday AM and hope to make Jacksonville that night, then to the track by noon on Thursday.
Talk to you then and have a good drive down.
