Topic that is like a dead horse Huh? Sorry new here... My good friend road races a GT6 (150hp) and blew his stock clutch apart. Anyone have any suggestions on a replacement clutch kit??..
He does not want one that is the either on or off (quick grab)
type. But one that will hold up in Vintage racing.
Thanks
Gary

When you start seriously racing, and making pretty decent HP, it time to go with real racing cluthc, like a Tilton or Quartmaster, we use the 7.25" single dis set up on the Spridgets, with 150hp you probably could get by with a 7.25" single disc as well. All the 7.25 pressure palte are universal, the dis, I used the sintered ones, are only unique as for ID and spline count, same as Spitfire right, if so then thats common, it's also same as Spridget, the biigest chore for you is to get a flywheel set up drilled for the 7.25" racing clutch, and more than likely spce the T/O bearing out for the thinner pressure plate. Stcok clutch don't last as HP number go up and in the end the racing clutches cost less to use.

If your GT6 has the same clutch assembly like the TR6 then you can take the Saab Turbo pressure plate with a stock clutch plate.

Works well on my 170 hp TR4.

Cheers
Chris
