R.I.P. Lawrence

I heard about this on NPR this morning, it is a sad day in baseball. He had an amazing career and said some interesting things, truly one of the greats.

Forgot he was just 5'8"!
What a character.

"You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours." -- Yogi Berra

As another catcher in my much younger days, Yogi was always my idol.

In the Fall of 1946, I saw Yogi's first game at Yankee Stadium, I believe in a double header against the Philadelphia A's (could be wrong). My dad, a Yankee fan since the 1920's, took me there. Anyway, he was not yet called Yogi but Larry Berra and he hit at least one home run during the games. Also playing his first game was Frank Colman who also hit a home run or two, Colman was never heard from again but Larry became Yogi and you know the rest of the story. I'm going to research this to see if my memory is correct. After all, it was only 69 years ago...
