TR4/4A Quick TR4A wiring question

Good evening folks,

I am finishing up what came to me as a very disassembled TR4A. What I need help with is the wiper switch. This car has 2 speed wipers. I finally found the NLA correct switch 35521. What I need to know, is which wire to which terminal. The Factory manual I have only has the diagram for a single speed, and the one I downloaded does not list the terminal numbers. Can anyone help?? I have a lot of hours into repairing the harness already, and I would hate to fry it at this stage.
Thanks for your time

Jesse,

I don't think you can fry anything. When I rewired my wiper
switch, I used trial and error until the wipers worked.
So far so good.

Your wire combinations are very limited. Have at it.

Is this NOT what you are looking for?

Or is this the 1 speed?

Jesse,
I saved this a while back. Hope it helps.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]The wiper switch has power and selecting low or high feeds power to the wiper motor. The colours to the switch are green - supply, red\light green - slow speed, blue\light green - high speed, brown\light green - pulse (if you have that facility)
The wires to the motor socket are red - low speed, yellow - high speed, blue - pulse. Pulse (or jog if you prefer) runs at slow speed also.
If you unplug the motor from the loom and apply 12v +ve to the red terminal and see if it runs this will prove the motor. I don't think it will run in high speed if there is a slow speed brush problem. (It is a three brush motor)

Alternatively just unplug and switch on the wiper switch to check for voltage.

If your TR6 motor is the same as the one in my TR250, then there should be three wires comming from the motor. One goes to +ve - ignition on. To get low speed to work, you have to connect the other TWO wires from the motor to ground (high speed runs if only one wire is connected to ground). As the colour codeing on mine was gone, I had to figure out which wires were which by a bit of trial and error. Now the wiper replacement switches (i.e. not the Hooters original) only ground one feed from the motor at a time, so to get around this, you need to install a power diode between the two switch terminals connecting to the motor. This gives - low speed, both terminals ground, high speed - one terminal ground. Again trial and error to get the diode ponting in the right direction. [/QUOTE]

Don,

My problem with the excellent wiring diagrams is I never
knew what end was the top and what end was the bottom
in the switches and gauges or lights. That's why I hard
wire soldered a seperate ground wire to every bulb and
gauge.

Therefore my trial and error method of wire attachment
until something functioned properly.

The other day, I had to dismantle my fuel gauge so I could
determine what spade was power and what spade was sender.
It took me over 1/2 a day to install my fuel gauge as a
result.

Hopefully you came to the correct conclusion that it doesn't matter ?
