Quick Query re: TIming Chain Cover

Gentlemen and Ladies,

Quick query...

Since I will be removing my freshly installed engine anyway.... I wish to replace my timing chain cover on the 1500 (felt seal that leaks nicely) with a timing chain cover that has a rubber seal...

What year/model MGA or MGB had a rubber seal cover that will fit on my 1500??

Thanks guys....

Later 1600 Mk 2 MGA through all 3 main MGB and some 5 main, but don't recall where the end point was - they moved the timing gauge around on later ones.

I ~think~ the changepoint was with the 18V engines. Early B (GA & GB series) should do the job.

Good morning Bill and Doc...

Thanks for the info. One of our Club members has a stack of extra covers that should fit and has generously offered me one.... So... one more leak will shortly be taken care of... :wall:

I have been driving my car to the office frequently and have been getting complaints ... 'I don't care if it is marking its territory...Put something under it for Pete's sake..' :smirk:
