Quick HS4 Question

I just reinstalled the rebuilt carb and started the car - it ran but promptly flooded - I'm not overly concerned in that it is a rebuilt carb and needs to be dialed in. However, there was a little puddle of fuel on the ground when I moved the car. So, I just want to confirm I have the fuel line on the float correctly.

To recap - I'm running a single HS4 on a Midget - rear carb from an MGB. There are two lines on the float cap. One is lower than the other. I have the fuel line hooked up to the lower of the two. Is this correct? I really don't want to pull the top of the float for the suck blow test - (even though it MIGHT take 3 minutes)

thanks all

John, if your float lid has three brass tubes on it then, two of those are fuel feeds, one feed from the fuel supply line and one feed to tranfer fuel to the other float lid, if you don't have one of those fuel feed tubes plugged, then you are dumping fuel out of it. What you really need for your single HS4 conversion to your 1500 is a two tube ( one fuel feed tube, one vent tube) float lid, but you should be able to plug the extra fuel feed and see if that is the problem. To plug the extra fuel feed tube easliy for the test, just use a short section of rubber fuel hose with a clamped to the tube and then 1/4" bolt golf tee works too) insert in the other end with a clamp on it, that should do to check the problem, but you still to confirm what is a fuel feed and a vent tube. Hope this helps

Hap I do have a two tube - I guess I just need to confirm which is which
