Although purists may scoff, the other day I was with the wife in the car, she asked "where do I put my drink?" where indeed, good question. I think a sports car is for sporting driving, but I also plan to tour, and touring can get hot and hot means you need drinks.

So I went to the local auto parts chain and got this for less than $10

The dohickys sticking out the bottom are women's hair watchamacallits which can be had for a couple bucks at walgreens, they are flexible plastic with little teeth to grip a persons head or......your carpet on your driveshaft tunnel. Drill a couple holes, screw a couple screws (I also painted mine black because one was a different color).

Here it is in the car:

I don't know if I would trust it with a 32 oz. big gulp but cans of pop or bottles of water are fine, and the thing is adjustable to drink size. Also completely removeable.

This is in my TR250, but should work in most any TR or MG or Healey for that matter.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing, Greg.

Very nice -- much better looking than the roll of duct tape I use as a cup holder.

A creature comfort I have added is a pad sold to fasten on a seat belt to keep it from chafing the shoulder -- works well on the TR4 dash support which is unpadded and even hot on a warm day:

No,no,no, they're headbands. It's obviously supposed to go on her head!

All joshing aside I was mighty impressed with this contraption.it's annoyance, not necessity, that is the mother of invention.
