Hey guys, i'm attempting to put the engine in my car today (recall 1275 into early 1500 car). I don't know where the reverse light switch goes. i have one rough trans and it's on the driver's side right in front of the shift lever. i took the switch off and the threaded hole on the new trans is too big. . . where is the switch, or am i doomed to have no reverse lights (or have to manually switch them on with toggle switch)

numbers on trans = 24a480 vaf10

I thought the shifter towers on the ribcases had the light in the same position (for the ones that had a switch). I'm pretty sure this is an item that can be replaced in the car (Assuming that the shift tower you are using came from a car with reversing lights)

Reverse lights started sometime in 1967, if you have an earlier tranny, you may not have the switch.
Later trannys had 2 switches, one for back up lights, 1 for seat belt light.
Just remove the reverse lights and fill in the holes, the body looks much nicer without them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
