Question re MG YA,YB,YT bumper uprights

Does anyone know if the bumper uprights (bumperettes) for the Y series cars are interchangeable with those on a TD?

If not, are the mountings and appearance close?

I wouldn't be suprised if they were the same part considering how many parts are shared between Y-Types and TD. I can email you a closeup of my YB overriders (uprights, bumperettes /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) if it will help.

Steve, thanks for the offer. I'll save you the trouble - here's what I'm looking for. Do they look like yours? I figure I'm more likely to find TD pieces than Y pieces & am hoping they're identical or very close.

They have a single mounting bolt in the recessed area.

How embarassing. I don't know what I was thinking, but my Y doesn't have them installed. I think I had my MGA in mind when I posted that.

Steve, thanks for the links. The mgytype site has some pretty good pictures - comparing them with some from the NE T-Register site has probably given me what I need.

Aloha John,

The overriders on the TD and TF are the same. The ones on my TF are similar in appearance but not a match. The overriders have a flared out shoulder that makes them wider where it mates with the bumper face bar. They also have an indented crease that runs vertically on the face. Hope my description is helpful.

Dave, thanks. Yes, I understand your description - I noticed that many of the pictures showed uprights that flare out where they meet the bumper. Those must be the T-series ones.
