Question on clutch play Datsun 5 speed

Can anyone with a 5 speed answer the following? I finally got back to Onslo the Sprite and bled the clutch again. I have a Datsun 5 speed with the Rivergate aftermarket slave cylinder. I kept the Sprite flywheel and a new Sprite clutch modified per Rivergate instructions. I got all the air out and the clutch feels right and it seems to disengage as it should. I have about an inch of free play at the pedal and maybe 1/16 inch at the release lever. Is that 1/16 enough to ensure the release bearing is not riding on the diaphram? I think there is enough pedal to back it off a little if that is too tight. I don't want to wear out the release bearing any sooner than absolutely necessary. Have not driven it yet but it will start in gear and select any gear with engine running. It will move forward and backward under its own power. Hope to test drive tomorrow.
