Question from film thread

As I watch the Spridgets in film thread, there are regularly scenes with people (usually young women) sitting on the back, with feet in cockpit and backside on top of boot. I have never had to do thid or even been asked, but, will that part of the car actually bear the weight of a person?

If you don't have a top installed, the lip where it attaches will hold a prom queen. Most of the time it's small children who ride in back w/ me and a have them sit b/w the seats on the back floor just before the back interior panel.
