My MC seeps a bit where the top attaches to the body.

Is there some sort of sealer I can use along with the new gasket that is in there that the brake fluid will not eat up?

Jack
Try some gortex cord They sell it at Graingers it comes in a bunch of different widths and it has an adhisive on one side to hold it during asemble.Great stuff, if the surfaces are not perfect it fills it in.The lifter cover with the crank vent on my eng was deformed and I could not get it to stop leaking I pulled off the gasket and used some 1/4 Gortex cord and its been dry ever since. PTFE impervoius to just about anything.

Cool, will look for some here at my favorate auto place.

Jack, the cast aluminum covers warp very easily. Try lapping the cover with a piece of sandpaper on a flat surface, such as a piece of glass.
None of mine leak after doing that.

Jack,
Your local builder supply should have 8x10 sheets of aluminum oxide paper with an adhesive back. Most glass shops carry 3/8" to 1/2" glass for table tops and the like. See if they have an off cut that's maybe 12"x24".

If the builder's supply doesn't have the paper check a retail wood workers supply store.

And I like that idea even better, sand it smooth and straight. Yep, will try first, maybe tomorrow.

Did the deed, sanded it smooth and straight and it is back in. Beats the heck out of pulling the engine. Now we will see.

Jack, I'm afraid you might get bored and just pull the engine because?

Well, not yet. Need to get carbs fine tuned and get the darn bubble out of my clutch line.

Did get Miss Agatha all cleaned up today. Now all I need is another show but none here till spring I think.

Gulp!!! Oh NO! you will have to pull the engine to fix that bubble!!! NOT! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
