I know this may be inappropriate but when you need advice, go to the best source. I am overhauling a CD 175 stromberg for a friend with a 79 one owner MGB. After removing the carb, I noticed the intake manifold is full of carbon probably from the EGR valve and engine temperatures that never get hot enough to keep the manifold clean. I'm afraid to bust it all loose (the carbon) for the obvious reasons. Should I just leave it be, or remove the manifold?
