Question- exhaust manifold

I have a 1275 manifold but have a regular 945 exhaust pipe, sigh.

Oh well, think I will try the aluminum gasket trick with mufler sealing paste. That sounds like it would work, no room for a real gasket in there just need something to fill up the small imperfections.

Everything is out and free to pull the engine now but for the bonnet so I am well on the way. Even have new clutch and disk on order and oil pump is on hand.

Something just doesn't sound right if you have a 1275 manifold and a 948 pipe. Those two just should not work together at all--
If you have an exhaust leak that just won't stop then I may have found the answer.

The 1275 manifold is to go with my H2 carbs which I also have and the 206 or 295 cylinder head which I keep an eye out for. That and a mild cam should jump HP by about 30 as I have a 998 engine.

No rush, just a place to put funds next year. Need to get all else right first.
 
Jack, I am not sure that the sandwiched material will hold up to the high heat or melt into a gooey mess or get brittle and dry out, but I do know that using the heaviest aluminum foil from the supermarket, folding it into a few plies and then using the muffler-paste as a sealer it does make a pretty good gasket there!
