Question - anodizing

I know I asked for a source for this a few months ago but got not answer one.

So, a guy on the west coast will do the trim around the cockpit, windsheld posts, and windshield for 700 dollars. Do not think he will get my money.

There must be folks someplace that do this stuff for other than an arm and a leg and your oldest born child.

Have you checked the local car customizing shops? I know there are a few in the Miami and Daytona areas. If they don't do it, they usually know someone who does.

My vote still goes for polishing the stuff, then applying Zoopseal every couple of years.

...But sorry, I do not know of anyone that anodizes. I know that caswell makes a kit for DYI small items.

Have you been to a streetrod or motorcycle show/cruise? Those guys usually know where the local platers can be found.

I think that Eastwood also has a kit. Should not be hard to do.

I know nothing about them, but it looks like they can handle what you want. If one is close to you, a visit to see their work may be in order.

Heh, only 6 or 7 hours away, however I will contact them with email and pics and see what I can glean. Appreciate, guess my googleing leaves a lot to be desired.

Just my .02

My friend has a bugeye that he polished the trim on WOW!!
I know you want it to look original, but with the polished trim it makes the interior just POP.

Part of my problem I think is that I have had very unsatisfactory results polishing alum.

Maybe more practice is in order.

Did you clean the old anodizing off with oven cleaner?
I purchased caswell's aluminum polishing kit and have used it extensively with good results.

Oh really Trevor, will try that today. Seeing that I did not have an oven to clean would not have thought of that, lol.

Will also check caswell for the polishing stuff.

Meanwhile I sent out a request for a ball park price with a photo to an outfit in Orlando. I'll let all know what they say if they do.
