Where was the Allard originally built, by who and when?

Founded by Sydney Allard the Allard Car Company began producing sports cars in the days leading upto W.W.II. The Allard concept was to build lightweight sports cars powered by powerful American V8 engines which would be competitive in trials events and still be ok for road use.

From https://www.motorbase.com/search/manufacturer.ehtml

Motorbase.com is a great site, especially for British cars.

The Allard Motor Company was an English car manufacturer founded in 1936 by Sydney Allard. The company, based in Putney, London until 1945 and then in Clapham, London, produced approximately 1900 cars until its closure in 1966.

Friend of mine runs the North American Allard Registry.
