Question about my 57 body tub

There are two holes in the tub behind the turn signal and park lamps in the front apron that are blocked off on later tubs. If the rubber seals for the lamps protrude through these holes, how is the wiring routed back to the engine compartment?

I believe the holes are for access only. Not needed on later cars as the grill and lights come out. The wires stay clipped between the inner fender and the apron. Tom

No, the body of the lamp definitely protrudes back through the hole. The TR3 uses lamps that fit nearly flush to the surface, rather than the "bee hive" lamps used on the TR3A; which means they stick out quite a bit farther behind the panel.

I believe the wires are supposed to loop around and come back forward through the hole, but I'm not certain offhand.
