TR2/3/3A Putting traction bars on a TR3?

Would there be an advantage to installing a set?....ie. preventing wheel hop........Or would there be any disadvantages? Where would the traction bars bolt to on a TR3?

You mean the old bars with the bumpers that contact the front of the leaf spring to prevent axle wind up? My stock TR3 doesn't have nearly enough torque to wrap the axle. I would think the question would be how much horsepower can you add before traction bars would do anything at all.

The only benefit would come during 2000+RPM clutch-drop to WOT acceleration runs, where the TR3 is indeed prone to axle hop. (My TR3, which was stock, hopped much like my 2002 Corvette. Heck, it did it so violently once during performance testing that the throttle linkage popped loose!) Honestly, though, how often are you going to abuse your clutch, transmission, differential, axles and wheels like that? I can't even speak to how much benefit the traction bars would provide, since it's not a well-known application.

These are the bars that were made for TRs. They are commonly used in Sunbeam Tigers https://tractionmaster.com/ . I have a restored set but not on my car yet. There is an old set on ebay right now. Note the M-1 markings at the end which is the mark that TractionMaster claims original. My thinking is that, if you autocross, they will keep the rear wheels on the ground exiting tight turns under power. On the street, no benefit IMO. They are indeed rare. They attach to the leaf spring perch, replacing the existing plate below the spring. The new plate has shackle type hangers that are welded to the plates. The track rods attach between the shackles. On the front there is a "L" bracket that is welded to the body just shy of the front spring eye. On Tigers, there are two options. One welded and a second that uses a simple clamp around the front of the leaf. I figure that it can attached to the TR either method.
