Putting BE dash together from box of random parts-

All my dash lights, switches, gauges etc. came in one box of various parts, some I am sure came off of other cars. I am trying to clean them up and put them back on my recovered dash, and have a question or two. First, some diagrams such as the one of the dash in the Moss catalog show the choke knob on the far upper right of the dash, but some pictures I have seen show the choke between the tach and oil/water gauge. What is correct? Second, does anyone stock the Start knob;there does not seem to be one in the box (nor an ignition/light switch for that matter). Thanks, Jim

For a Left Hand Drive car the choke knob is located between the Tach and the Combination guage. For RHD, choke (and starter cable) is in the same physical location on the dash, but all the instruments are relocated for the steering wheel on the right side.
Moss has the ignition/light switch (#140-535, + etc, etc)
I would try to find a used start cable (all in one piece), as even when and if the reproductions were avaiable, the letter "S" was never like the original. That is what I did.

Thanks, Scott. Now I got it. Are the ignition switch and the starter cable shared with any other models other than the Bugeye? Jim

Noop. Only on the BE as far as I know. Maybe something a lot earlier.

Here is the switch ebay uk with the frequently missing clip.

Thanks. I may have to hit the Buy button on that EBay ignition switch.
Ray, your dash looks great. Are those new knobs?

Combination ignition light switch is the same as early Austin Devon ('48 thru early '50's) Early Morris Minor uses same choke knob... not positive about length, but should be about the same. Same starter too, but I believe the cable is shorter.

Why thank you Gerard. I knew it was off the shelf but had no clue as to what.

I have the year wrong on the ignition switch... more like mid-50's. Many mid-50's Austins used this combo switch, A50, A70, A90, etc.

Oh look. Washer pump is the same except for knob color.
