Push Rods

Narrowing down the lifters to get brings up that I'll need the longer push rods. Are the stock 18V rods ok or should we be looking at something else?

Would you please explain what "Narrowing down the lifters" is? I have a 72 MGB engine that I had the cam reground to a high lift and don't know if I need to do anything to the lifters.

Barry: When you have a stock cam reground they machine the base circle to a smaller effective diameter. This will slightly effect your rocker geometry but probably not enough to have to deal with. IF you are going to use a lot of revs consistently you might consider some kind of tubular push rod rather than the solid stock ones. They will be somewhat stronger and probably lighter, too. Bob

Sorry, my previous post was about which lifter to get. The lifters come tall up to the 18V engine when they changed them to a shorter lifter which requires a longer push rod. I'm going to buy Chilled Iron Lifters which are the shorter ones so now I'll need the longer push rods.
