newbie trying to get teh BigHealey back on the orad. I have a Denis Welsh set up, roller rocker, bucket lifters lightened pushrod tubes, etc. and trying to figure is they need to be "trimmed"? they appear to be about 2" longer that the stock push rods, adn has anyone out there had to perform sugrery on their push rods? Or, how would one go about measuring or making a calculation on how much to trim the DW pushrods?? thanks, on blocks since 1976

Hello Healeyguy,
Welcome to the forum.
The "bucket" cam followers would require considerably longer push rods than the original followers.
The new pushrod/bucket follower should be approximately the same overall length (measured from bottom of follower to top of pushrod) as the standard follower/short pushrod.
Before modifying anything I would contact DW. They are pretty prompt at answering questions.

While you are at it, check on the need to enlarge the pushrod holes in the head to make room for the higher lift roller rockers. Also, if the valve lift is a lot more, you may need to notch the cylinder block to provide more clearance for the open exhaust valves.
