I have a new problem this time that really has me baffled.
I have had at least three instances in which the 2" long Purple hoses that connect the one way check valve for the air injection pump to the two air injection rails literally blows out a rectangular section of the hose, always on the underside. The blown out section is about 3/4 inch wide and spans between both hose clamps. Sometimes #1 Bank and sometimes #2. You will know when this happens because the engine sound changes appreciably.
The hose rubber has indications of being charred on the inside.
Is this a checkvalve problem, an air pump problem or the vacuum driven activator?
Anyone experienced this before?
During normal operation is the air coming up to the rails from the emission pump HOT! Is exhaust gas coming back through the system?
