For a Triumph TR3 sold in this country, would it contain British Standard gauge wire or American Standard gauge wire, and how does one tell the difference other than using separate wire gauges?

British, they measure their wire by # of strands

You have solved a "mystery" for me. When I spoke to someone from TRF today about wire in the TR3, he spoke in terms of "strands." I had no idea what he was talking about.
