Doug, Son joined Army Nat Guard while the ROTC sorts out if he can contract or not.
Since he missed this semester in school it changed his graduation year to the next which gives him a better shot as all the contracts had been handed out for his grad year before he entered this school.
After basic training he went straight to specialty school as a Sapper, Combat Engineer. He was blowing $hit up.
If he gets his suspected contract in ROTC then he will change course and enter OCS after graduation.
Future plans after that are still in the air , but we want him to continue school and go to law school and let the military pay for it.
Oh yea , another proud parenting moment.
He was made Platoon Sargent and was a beaming moment to have all the recruits coming up and telling us what a good leader he was and then also introducing him to their parents as their leader!!
