Hello,

I'm just about to restore the propshaft. The old u-joints are removed. Now I want to install the new u-joints. Are there special instructions that must be followed during installation?

There's really nothing special about it, just make sure that none of the needle-rollers get crosswise in there.

When you press them in, going a little too far will cause them to bind, so just a rap with a hammer in the opposite direction will loosen them back up again (but put the circlips back in first.

There's also some thought going into which way to orient the grease fitting__if present__or it can get knocked off right at the threads.

Probably a thousand You Tube videos on the subject; if you've seen one, you've seen them all kind of thing.

Thanks for the answer Randy.

I've seen some videos on youtube. Now I know how it is done.

Its critical you keep the Joint square to the caps as you press everything together and slide the Joint side to side to keep it from upsetting the needles and knocking them out of place.
