I wonder if anyone has had any expierence with the ProperMG out of Massachusetts. I ordered some parts, they sent me a small portion of the order (Only charged for the parts delivered), and placed the rest on back order. I called their number the other day and was told it was disconnected. Their web site is still operational so I have e-mailed them with no response. Anyone have any clues. I'm only guessing they are out of business. Which is ashame because they offered an exteded capacity heater core, which I am replacing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

There is quite a long thread on the MGB Experience regarding this vendor...I hesitate to comment on this BBS...

Go to:

https://www.mgexperience.net/phorum/search.php?1,search=proper+mg,page=1,match_type=ALL,match_dates=30,match_forum=ALL,body=1,author=1,subject=1

for my search of topics in the last 30 days.

I doubt if you WILL hear from them...

(enter rock song lyrics from the '70s.....

"and another one bites the dust....")

...referring to Proper MG, not you!

What is curious about these people is if you read their website you have to believe they were acting as an agent for a British parts supplier - the way guys on this board work with Moss. That being the case they would not be expected to maintain large stocks with the resultant capital being tied up. That being the case its not nearly so easy to get into financial difficulties. After all you usually collect the money, get the part and forward it on. Now if you fail to pass the money on to the supplier then you have a problem or if you PO ( not previous owner )by advertising incorrectly for example and they cancel your agency agreement, then you also have a problem.

Thanks for the information. I emailed the ProperMG and canx my order. I immediately ordered my parts from Moss Motors. They have already delivered the parts. With this kind of service the price is less of an issue. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Keep an eye on your credit card statement, and be prepared to dispute the charges. I would HOPE that the company providing the on-line shopping services for Proper MG would know enough to stop taking orders, but one never knows.....

Forget about Proper MG ..They are history. I posted my problem with them on 6/29("Ive Been Had - Need your help"). Contact your CC company immediately - File a dispute and request a refund. Their Phones have been disconnected and they do not answer emails /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I went so far as to contact the local authorities (police) and when they finally ran the owner down he said he was in the process of closing the business down. You seem to be one of the lucky ones who at least got some parts.
