Proper AMCO Tonneau cover for BN2?

I acquired an AMCO tonneau cover, model 2032, which was to fit my BN2. The five lift-the-dot fasteners along the rear edge fit perfectly, which was encouraging. The forward fasteners, however, come up about an inch short and do not match the locations of the original studs. If the center fasteners could reach far enough forward they would match the mirror screws. The stud locations are about two inches outboard. The outer fasteners receptacles (I don't know the proper name for the fasteners which go through an elongated receptacle and then are twisted 90 degrees to lock) are not installed in the tonneau cover but are not close to the original locations on the car. Is AMCO still in business? Were any of the other Healey two seaters configured differently (maybe my cover is for a different model)?

Hi Jay,
Not sure what combination you have. Don't know where the five lift dot's on the rear would come into the picture. Maybe a previous owner has changed things.

An original BN2 tonneau, at the rear, would have two short embedded metal bars to fit under the soft top retainer clips, on each side would be two Tenax fasteners, & just behind the doors would be two turn button eyelets located on separate tabs sewn to the underside of the tonneau. Same hardware & locations as the soft top.

The front of the tonneau, going from left to right on LH drive, would be one turn button on left outside corner, one sail eyelet to go over the windshield spring storage post, a small cutout for the mirror bracket, a lift dot located about two inches to the right of the mirror to anchor the passenger side of the tonneau, (zipper is off center to the right) another sail eyelet, & the outboard right side turn button.

I must have a cover for a different car. My first Healey was a '56 BN2, in 1964, and I believe it had the cover you described. I remember using the soft top anchors for the tonneaus cover as well as for the top. My car, as I acquired it, had holes just aft of the aluminum cockpit surround and they exactly align with the lift-the-dot fasteners on the tonneau cover. I think there is a "short" cover for these cars also (maybe not factory). The zipper on my cover is centered. Looks as if I have a cover for a different car.

No advice here, but a question. Is AMCO a good brand for covers and tops? I am only aware of the items available through Moss.

Heritage Trim is said (by Concours judges anyway) to be the most accurate in terms of fit and correct materials/fasteners. Can cost a bit more but sometimes they have sales/specials. www.heritagetrim.com
