Hi all. went back in on the springs this week sqeezing time in since it has gotten warm after work and days are getting longer. Removed the left side and took the first leaf out (moss rally, already took out #5 and was sitting too high and tight).
Bought all new hardware last week and the two front bolts that thread through ain't lining up. Will play with them over the weekend, did about three walk aways (patience prevails). The other side will get the Summit wedge to even her out.
Engine shop is still working, bought the hardened rod bolts ARP last weekend and was told not to install them without machining the rods for the diff in torque setting and centrifigul space. Waiting for the maniflow intake, carbs and rockers are done and close to cc'ing the head.
I was also told that the aftermarket head studs might be not as good and should use the ARP (even with the low compression, 9.5 I hope, not to worry)if I wanted to replace them and was given a great price.
Was told that the bottom mods would cost me as much as the top (already posted), not really practical for my use, but **** tempting, hmmm, screaming.
Flywheel weighed in at 12lbs so she was already done before, Knew this engine felt hot when I first drove in a 71 Midget 25 years ago, explains that.
Just giving you guys the "Jack" update.
