Sent master cylinder off to be rebuild with all new goodies, sleeves and pistons in brass.

Installed new oil seal on rear of transmission.

Cleaned up cap screws for master cylinder, guess I need to plate them now.

Tried to get the pinion nut off of the differencial, no joy. It is now soaking in blaster stuff. But I must replace that seal somehow.

I enjoy reading about you progress every evening. anywho i was wondering if this idea might help you with your pinion nut i have used this before and it may help. this is a pic of a tool to help hold the pinion flange while loosning the nut. basically a piece of flat bar stock, the longer the better (leverage) with holes drilled to match the hole pattern on the flange and bolted to the flange. the cut out is for clearance for the socket. it can even be leveraged against a solid object, like the floor. this with a cheater bar on a breaker bar can give you lots of force. Perhaps this is nothing new to you. FWIW

ps Please forgive my crude drawing

Oh, that's excellent, I will try that tomorrow.

Did a variation, used about 1/2 ounce of blaster and let it soak for three days. Then mounted two bolts in the holes and a large screw driver to hold it against the floor then socket, one hit with hammer and out the bolt came. New seal is now in only some cleaning, painting and reassemblely at this point, tomorrow or the next day should see the rear end complete. Think I will mount the backing plates and other items now.
