Pistons with rings came today from Tony.

Also a dizzy, and a complete rebuild gasket set, Dizzy from Bugeye58 and gaskets from eBay $32 delivered.

Primer on front engine plate and jack.

Wire brushed to bare metal tapet side covers. Not quite finished.

Just a bit every day and yes you are going to have to see these progress reports for a long while. Hay, I have to share with someone.
 
Keep these reports coming! It's exciting for those of us still car-less to be able to vicariously live along with your restoration... and it's a constant reminder to me of how much work a restoration really is, so I won't get sidetracked and buy another project car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Sounds a lot like mine ... I sincerely doubt it's stock (exhaust or otherwise). Sounds to me like it has a large diameter exhaust, and possibly cam, High Comp, etc. Sounds good! It has that characteristic high-pitched whine that mine has, it must be a British pushrod thing ... if you don't know what I mean, listen to the end as he crosses the finsh line. The engine is revving pretty nicely and is held there awhile. You can isolate the sound from the typical roar of the exhaust.
 
Unfortunately, I never got a chance to talk with the owner of this Bugeye, so I don't know how stock the car is. A really nice car. I'm glad I was reminded by my wife that my digital camera took movies--I watch that video often myself to remind me what I am after.
