Problems with Oil Leak From Distributor

My BN2 distributor is leaking oil at base where it attaches to engine. I had good luck with an "O" ring until I sent out distributor to be rebuilt. It seems to have a different body which is what it is. The rebuild was great but now my "O" ring fix does not work and distributor works it's way loose after short time. So I assume other BN2 s are having same problem since they never had "O" ring from factory. I was thinking maybe make a gasket that might at least slow oil leak down taking up less space or just live with it. The "O" ring might be taking up too much space not allowing distributor clamp to hold distributor. Any ideas?? Thanks Marty

Moss catalog isn't much help - suggest you call Jeff Schlemmer at Advanced Distributors and discuss with him. He'll know.

I found an answer to my own problem. The "o" ring is about 1.5 mm so I found washers the same thickness to put between bracket and engine. Works great with no leaks now. This allows the bracket to do it's job. So far so good.
