Winter is coming, and with it comes a road salt brine that devours cars like I devour donuts. I had already put Maggie away for the winter, but last Sunday was a decent day and I found myself with a few hours in the afternoon. Decided to take a drive up to what I assumed was the closed snow gate on one of my favorite local canyon drives. To my surprise the canyon was still fully open, so I had a nice drive up and over the top (10,734' elevation at the pass). Snow on the ground, but the road was clear and pretty empty. Turns out the heater in a Morris Minor works very well. Don't know if I'll slip in another drive, and if so this was a great last outing for the season.
