Printing a jpeg to scale?

Would anyone know how I can take a jpeg photo, and print it so the photo is 5.75" wide?

In other words, enlarge (or shrink) the photo so it actually prints 5.75" wide.

Inquiring minds want to know!

Tom, whatever program you use make sure the pic is taken as high a res as possible

Irfanview is not available for Mac. But I use Pages to get a print to the size needed for making signs and backdrops for my slot car layout, and it works well when I need that.
