Oh noooo.....I saw the first half of this title and KNEW it wasn't good. That's heartbreaking. At least the Lister-Jaguar isn't a D-Type?

I have a few pictures of this, as my friend was there both days. Good news is that both drivers walked away. Bad is that no one can figure out what happened. The Lister apparently stopped on the access road to the pits, the Merc slammed into the rear....he should have seen him!? This damage will cost a few thousand £££££s....hoping they have insurance!!

The Merc is valued at 5.9 million. Lister is 1 million and change.

Notice the green antifreeze that came out of the M-B's cooling system. I wonder if/why cars are allowed to race with it?

How on earth can that Mercedes be valued so highly? It's not a 300SLR, its an SLS, a reconstructed 300SL.
One sold for about 1 million a couple of years ago, and original 300SLs for just over 1 million recently .

I guess it was going to be up for auction......

Mercedes seem to have a knack for rear-ending cars in the pit lane. Glad this one turned out better.

I agree. But it now has become an icon of sorts... The net is loaded with full on restorations bring top money, that may make this own rare?
