Preventative maintenance time

I did it with a trip from Tampa to Cleveland... a neighbor joked that I didn't have a generator aboard (but nearly everything else!)... I ~thought~ there was a set of gen brushes in the box. We got to within 20 miles of the Lake and the iggy light came on! Had to hunt down a set of brushes, found 'em and the return trip was without incident... but I DO take your point. I just hate to be surprised by MY car.

Things do happen - & as much as we try to prepare for them, we're gonna miss something...but, I gotta ask: "Do you carry spares in your 'normal' car?"

I don't even have so much as a nail file in the Alfa... much to my embarassment. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There's a lot to be said for reliability and predictability with its breakdowns? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I don't carry spares in any of my cars....If I am driving it any considerable distance it's because I have confidence in it's mechanics....Actually I've had more problems with my modern Caddy than anything else recently.
